Dragon Tattoo: Sequels Are A Go Says Sony

According to Sony Pictures?plans for?sequels to David Fincher's American adaptation of Stieg Larsson's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo are still?in place.
Thus far the film has taken in $60 million domestically since its bow two weeks ago, that is not too bad but the figure is?not exactly blazing any box-office trails either.

Most other countries don't premiere the film until later this month but its international haul is expected to be soft thanks to the success of the Swedish language version which pulled in $104 million globally back in late 2009.

Reviews for both versions were equally solid, the difference in numbers on sites like Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic were too close to notice.

Previously Sony had talked about plans to adapt the other two books in Larsson?s?trilogy. ?

?[Dragon Tattoo] continues to do strong business and nothing has changed with respect to development of the next book?" a studio suit rep tells Entertainment Weekly.

Writer Steven Zaillian?who penned?the?adapted script of Fincher's 'Tattoo', has seemingly already begun work on the script for the next pic.

Fincher has discussed perhaps shooting the next two films back-to-back, but whether that is still the case is not clear
