Couple Togetherness ? Part 2 ? Alternatives to the TV | Who Else ...

Last week I talked about a friend who was bored with her life and bored with her marriage. She said that all they did was watch TV every evening and she was bored. I came up with a few ideas of? things we can do, other than watch TV. Some of the things I?ve mentioned just take some time and some can take money but either way you can pick a few things that would interest you. I thought these things sounded like fun.

1. Take a dancing class together. Of course, my friend?s husband couldn?t do this but he could do the next thing.

2. Go for a walk. Or he could do one of the following.

3. Build something together, like for example a bird house.

4. Make a family vacation or holiday scrapbook together.

5. Clean the house together (HA!)

6. Rake the leaves and then jump in them like when we were young.

7. If it snows in your area go out and make a snowman.

8. Go on a bike ride or a hike.

9. Bake your favorite cookies together. Then enjoy them!

10. Plan your next vacation and make a plan to save for it. Then you have something to look forward to.

11. Take a class in self defense together at your local YMCA.

12. Take a first aid class, etc.

13. Go to the library or a bookstore and read books or magazines together. Rick and I do this one every so often. We always enjoy it.

14. Do volunteer work together. Nothing makes you feel as good as helping someone else.

15. Pick your favorite ethnic food and cook a dinner together.

16. Work on a big puzzle together.

17. Go out together for an ice cream cone.

18. In the summer you can get those really big water guns and sneak around the back yard around trees and fire away at each other!

19. You can play tennis or shoot baskets with each other or just hang out with your spouse and watch and talk as he shoots hoops.

20. Take a ride during the different changes of the seasons and enjoy the beautiful colors nature has provided for us.

21. During the holidays ride around and enjoy all the lights or go for a walk around the mall and enjoy the decorations and lights. Then stop and get a hot chocolate and just enjoy the moment.

22. Get your family together and go Christmas caroling to a few close friends or to a nursing home. There are tons of things to do together and I?d love to hear your ideas. You just need to put your heads together, communicate and be creative. Remember to compromise and try new things! Have fun being together as a couple !
