CLEVELAND -- Streaking to their fourth straight win, the Red Sox handily beat the Cleveland Indians and former manager Terry Francona, 7-2.

Despite the one-sided nature of the victory, the Red Sox struck out a season-high 16 times while also working nine walks while accumulating just six hits, including just one after the third inning.

The 16 strikeouts were the most for the Red Sox since they fanned 17 times against Tampa Bay on Sept. 21, 2007. It also marked the first time the team had struck out at least 16 times and walked at least nine times in a nine-inning game.

Boston took advantage of Cleveland starter Ubaldo Jimenez's wildness in the second to score all seven its runs. Jimenez walked five in that inning, including two with the bases loaded.

TURNING POINT: Already leading 4-0 in the top of the second, Napoli drove a ball to the wall in left-center, clearing the bases and putting the Sox up by seven runs.

BY THE NUMBERS: The Red Sox have won the opener of all five series they've played to date -- the first time they've done that to open a season since 2006.
