Mavs' top pick Larkin breaks ankle: Mavericks rookie guard Shane Larkin has a broken ankle and will likely be sidelined until training camp.

Larkin confirmed reports of the injury on Twitter. The former Miami point guard, who was the 18th pick in last month's draft, suffered the injury Friday in Dallas in the last practice before the team flew to Las Vegas for summer league games.

Heat not planning to use amnesty: The Miami Heat are plotting ways to win again next season, regardless of the cost.

Heat P president Pat Riley said that the team is not planning to exercise its amnesty option, a move that if utilized could save the team millions in upcoming luxury-tax payments. Riley says he and Heat managing general partner Micky Arison rarely talk about the looming tax bills and are instead focusing on ways to make the roster better.

Riley says the team keeps "moving forward and getting ready for next season," when Miami will try to win a third straight NBA championship.

The Heat are facing a luxury-tax bill that is on track to exceed $30 million for the coming season.

Hawks re-sign 3-point shooter Korver: The Atlanta Hawks have re-signed guard Kyle Korver, allowing the team to keep one of the league's top 3-point shooters.

The four-year, $24 million deal, first reported last week, was signed on Friday.

Korver averaged 10.9 points and made 45.7 percent of his 3-point shots last season to rank second in the NBA. He has made a 3-pointer in 73 consecutive regular-season games, the league's longest active streak.

Lakers sign Kaman: The Los Angeles Lakers signed free agent center Chris Kaman on Friday. His deal is reportedly for one year at $3.2 million.

Kaman averaged 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds while starting 52 of 66 games for Dallas last season. He averaged a career-low 20.7 minutes.

Timberwolves finalize contracts: The Minnesota Timberwolves have finalized contracts for three small forwards: Chase Budinger, Corey Brewer and rookie Shabazz Muhammad.

The deals were done on Friday. Budinger agreed to terms last week on a three-year, $16 million contract. Brewer agreed to on a three-year, $15 million deal on Wednesday. The Wolves had to manage their salary cap before they could actually sign them.

Muhammad was the 14th pick in the draft last month.
